Overview #
The Password-Based Authentication Module enables network access through static or scheduled passwords, configurable via the Admin Portal. This method is ideal for controlled environments where access needs to be limited to users who have been provided a specific password.
There are two password types:
- Static Passwords β A fixed password with a unique redirect URL.
- Password Subscriptions β Scheduled passwords that change daily, weekly, or monthly with automatic email notifications to subscribers. These can also be displayed via a public URL.
1. User Login Process #
- The user selects the Guest WiFi network.
- They are redirected to the Captive Portal, where they enter the provided password.
- Before proceeding, the user must accept the Terms and Conditions and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
- If the password is valid, the user gains network access.
- The user is redirected to a predefined URL set by the administrator.
- If the password is a scheduled password, it will automatically update based on the configured retention period (daily, weekly, or monthly).
2. Configuration & Customization #
Administrators can configure the Password-Based Authentication Module through the Admin Portal with the following options:

- Password Complexity Control β Admins can enforce password strength by requiring capital letters, numbers, and special characters.
