Event Access Login Module

Introduction #

The Event Access Login Module is designed for seamless Wi-Fi onboarding at events, conferences, or temporary access scenarios. This module automatically connects users to the network without displaying a captive portal, enabling a frictionless login experience.

Upon connection, users are automatically authenticated and redirected to a predefined URL, such as an event page, conference schedule, or sponsor website. The session remains active for a configured time period, after which the connection expires.

How It Works #

1. A user connects to the event Wi-Fi.

2. The system automatically logs in the device without showing a captive portal.

3. The user is redirected to a predefined webpage.

4. The session remains active for the configured session duration.

5. Once the session expires, the user must reconnect to regain access.

Configuring the Event Access Login Module #

Step 1: Enable Event Access Login #

1. Navigate to Sign In Administration > Login Portal > Portal Configurations.

2. Select Event Access as the sign-in module.

Step 2: Configure Redirect and Session Timeout #

1. Enter the Redirect URL, which determines where users will be sent after connection.

2. Set the Session Timeout (in minutes) to define how long the user remains connected.

3. Click Update Settings to save changes.

Viewing Event Logins #

Administrators can monitor connected devices via the Event Logins page:

1. Navigate to Sign In Administration > Sign In Modules > Event Access Logins.

2. The system displays active and historical logins with:

   • Device Type

   • Connection Time

   • Session Expiration Time

   • Last Seen Activity

   • Device Name & MAC Address

Important Considerations #

• No captive portal is displayed – users are automatically onboarded upon connection.

• Session expiration is enforced – once the timeout is reached, users must reconnect.

• Redirection is required – users will be forwarded to the configured URL upon connection.

• Device tracking is available – administrators can monitor connected devices and session activity.
